Taste of DC is proud to announce the 2017 installment of the Ben’s Chili Bowl’s World Chili Eating Championship, where brave men and women are pitted against the finest chili in the land—the stuff of myths– Ben’s Chili Bowl chili.

Last year Joey “Jaws” Chestnut took home the gold after years of intense training and preparatory carb-loading. Chestnut continues to shine bright in the competitive eating community, clinching victory at this year’s 92nd annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4th. Taste of DC looks forward to seeing Chestnut and other famed contestants chow down at this year’s competition and encourages everyone to experience the Ben’s Chili Bowl’s World Chili Eating Championship front and center!

This is the sixth annual Ben’s Chili Bowl’s World Chili Eating Championship at Taste of DC. The nation’s capital. DC’s premier food festival. Ben’s Chili Bowl chili. It’s a recipe for greatness, people, greatness. At the table or in the crowd—don’t miss it!

This contest will take place at 3pm on the Main Stage on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Taste of DC.
