TASTEBAND WRISTBANDS

Taste of DC is going cashless for food & beverages this year! RFID technology makes it easier and faster for attendees to enter Taste of DC and purchase food and drinks—with just the touch of a wristband! Instead of using cash or credit cards, you will pay for your food and drinks by activating your “Tasteband” and loading additional “Taste Tokens” onto your Tasteband online in advance or at select Tasteband stations located throughout the festival.

WILL I NEED ANY CASH OR CREDIT CARDS AT TASTE OF DC?

Yes, purchases made at the Artisan Market will require cash or credit card, depending on the merchant. We recommend bringing both cash and credit card.

WHAT ARE "TASTE Tokens?"

"Taste Tokens" are the official currency at Taste of DC.
1 Taste Tokens = $1.00

When you purchase your ticket in advance, you will receive a General Admission Tasteband wristband that is pre-loaded with:

• General Admission tickets include 1 complimentary beverage.
• VIP Tastemaker tickets include 25 Taste Tokens. 
• Drink Lovers tickets include 25 Taste Tokens.
• Oktoberfest Tickets include 2 complimentary beer stein fills.

Restaurant Row, Wine Walk + Oktoberfest
Tastes and sips on Restaurant Row, Wine Walk and Oktoberfest will require Taste Tokens for their tastes and sips. Tastes range from 1-8 Taste Tokens, or $1-$8. Beverages range from 6-10 Taste Tokens, or $6-$10.

All Taste of DC attendees must wear their Tastebands at all times. Guests who purchase in advance must activate their wristband prior to the event. 

Taste of DC tickets are likely to sell out in advance. Do not wait to buy tickets at the gate. Get your tickets early, tap your wristband and walk right in!

WHY CASHLESS RFID TASTEBANDS?

Taste of DC guests will experience a seamless and enhanced experience with the RFID technology. Benefits include:

• Faster entry

• Faster food and beverage purchasing
• Less time in line

Registered attendees will receive an email after the festival with a record of all the restaurants and sponsors they visited. This may also be viewed on your online account page.

WHY SHOULD I PURCHASE MY TICKETS AND ACTIVATE MY TASTEBAND IN ADVANCE?

By buying your ticket in advance, loading your Tasteband with Taste Tokens and activating your Tasteband early, you’ll have less wait time at Taste of DC and we can also help you with any damaged or lost Tastebands in advance. 

WHERE DO I GET A WRISTBAND?

Guests who purchase their tickets before October 1, 2017 will have their Tasteband mailed to them. If you buy tickets after October 1, 2017, you'll pick up your Tasteband at the door. Make sure you have downloaded your ticket with barcode BEFORE you arrive.

HOW DO I PURCHASE MORE TASTE TokenS AND LOAD CREDITS ONTO MY TASTEBAND?

Want more points for more tastes and beverages? No problem! It will be easy to pre-load your Tasteband online, on your smartphone at any time, or at one of our many Taste Token Kiosks located inside Taste of DC.
